I´m excited to present you the first podcast of a hopefully not so soon ending series I intent to present you on a regular basis. I´ve come across many inspiring people throughout my life and have a passion and hunger to discover and understand how people master challenges in life specially through the physical.
My first guest guest is fellow German endurance athlete Jens Nähler who is not only a great ultra runner; he also runs sub 3-hr marathons. In day-to-day life, Jens works long hours in the chief editing department of a large publishing company, lives with his wife, son and dog in Germany and has a big heart for dogs who suffer helping them find a new home.
What struck me was his story about how he first turned vegan and then progressively built his running career. Jens used to drink, smoke and eat meat every day. Right before the age of 40 he changed his life from one day to the next. He openly talks about how he´s mastered a series of different challenges along the way as a great example of somebody who shows that it´s possible to break old habits if you have a bigger vision and find the true purpose of what drives you.
He takes us beyond foods, the deeper meaning behind his quest and shares insights and tips how to rise to the next level - and endurance sports.
Enjoy the conversation and let me know what you think. I´m curious to hear what you took away from the conversation.
